Colors Poster

Colors are one of the basic topics many students like to learn. There are some basic colors, often combined, which can be a starting point to begin describing the spectrum around us. The ending of each word describes a thing or a being so the poster below shows both categories of color.
It is also important to know Ojibwemowin allows speakers to create terms for colors based on what they are seeing. For example, “giizhigowaande” is “sky color,” “oginiiwaande” is “rose color,” and “miinaande” is the blue-purple of blueberries etc. . .
